Sarasota Opera

Bill Wagy from Bill Wagy Productions rang me up and asked me to design an animated intro for a film he was shooting about the Sarasota Opera, one of America’s finest venues. The SO has a unique logo that I felt could play a central role in the animation. The Opera company is world-renown for [...]

The Opera company is world-renown for its performances of Verdi, so I chose Verdi’s Triumphal March from Aida.

CSI:CBS12

This is a project that I conceived whilst watching CSI on television one evening. One of the commercials within the show promoted the CBS12 News team. I had one of the those creative moments, and thought why not put the two together? Unfortunately, due to music licensing rights, this promo could not be broadcast. And [...]

I had one of the those creative moments, and thought why not put the two together?
Unfortunately, due to music licensing rights, this promo could not be broadcast. And in fact, it never did. This was simply a creative exercise, and way too much fun to do.

Baby Models :30

This is a :30 second promo for a May sweeps series on some of the people who are cashing in on baby models. Undercover video, great sound bites, and a compelling story line. That purveyor of fine voice-overs, Chris Corley, gave me a great performance to work with. The title card was created by the [...]

Creatively, this was a fun project to work on. Thanks to all involved.

I See You :30

This was a wonderful project to work on. I produced this :30 second promo to help support a news special about a hidden secret built in to some models of baby monitors. After reviewing the video, and the script, I was immediately struck by how truly sinister and mysterious this is. That was my creative [...]

This was a wonderful project to work on. I produced this :30 second promo to help support a news special about a hidden secret built in to some models of baby monitors. After reviewing the video, and the script, I was immediately struck by how truly sinister and mysterious this is. That was my creative starting point. I designed the audio/sound track first, trying never to stray far from sinister and mysterious.
I was helped immensely by our creative voice artist, Chris Corley, who really got into the creative spirit of the project, as you can tell towards the end of the promo. Art Director, Bob Saley, shared in the creative collaboration. Bob is the talent behind the title card on the end page.
Once completed, my imagination went into overdrive. I created many of the visual effects in a single afternoon.

I See You :15

In the business, this is what is what we call a “cut down.” First, we create the :30 second promo, and then re-configure shorter versions by cutting out or cutting down video and audio elements until it’s shorter in length. I chose not to do that with this version. Instead, I created it from the [...]

I chose not to do that with this version. Instead, I created it from the ground up to stand on its own, like the :30 second promo. The overall theme remains the same, it’s just shorter. See if you can spot or hear the difference.

This is a :30 second commercial that I produced for the local branch of the YMCA. The previous campaign was looking tired, and the client asked if there was something I could do to help them. Emmys

This is a :10 second sponsored promo that I produced for the 2010 Emmys broadcast. I didn’t have much time to turn it around, just a day and a half. And the network gave me very little to work with in the way of logos and artwork. I worked from low resolution stills that I [...]

And the network gave me very little to work with in the way of logos and artwork. I worked from low resolution stills that I was able to get from an electronic press kit (EPK).
